One Torah For All

One Torah shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

Think on these things
The Human Condition Series

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Today’s world has been changed by the advent of the internet and social media. Any person with such access can now reach thousands of people with just the click of a button. And on social media sites, a person can interact with another person instantaneously anywhere in the world. Often, things are passed along without so much as a second thought as to the veracity of the information or how such information shall be received by those viewing it, all this under the guise of sharing "truth". Sadly, the "truth" of something is rarely verified by those sharing it. For if it was verified, then much less would be shared, simply because so much which is shared is untrue.

In the above passage, those who follow Mashiach Yeshua are admonished to think on certain things, those things which one is admonished to think upon build up a person, rather than tear him down. This reminds us of another passage of Scripture.

1st Thessalonians 5:21
prove all things; hold fast that which is good;

The person who earnestly follows Mashiach Yeshua will diligently work at making sure that all things which he holds to have been proven by the light of Scripture. Furthermore, he shall not pass along anything which has obvious error in it. Many people read and pass on things which should not be promoted. Yet, the very act of passing something along is promoting it. Much more care should be taken.

There are a lot of people out there who simply want something from you. They do not care about your eternal well-being. Their only thought is what is in it for themselves. This is why we are admonished to test all spirits. (see this study for more details: Testing the Spirits)

1st John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of Elohim; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

It is easy to get caught up in fear of so many different things in our world. So much of what is passed along as truth garners fear. If something raises fear within you, then it is not something to be dwelt upon. Furthermore, it should not be passed along as it will most likely only further promote fear in those who receive it. This is one of the most powerful spirits which have gone out into our world today, the spirit of fear.

Does the person you listen to or read promote a spirit of fear within you? Then something is wrong.

1st John 4:18
There is no fear in love: but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he that fears is not made perfect in love.

This is going to be a tough passage for some to grasp ahold of because if he is full of fear, then he has not been filled with His Spirit. Both cannot be true. Brethren, beware of those who promote fear for such a message is not from above, but from this world which is passing away.

Seek YHWH while He may be found and be filled with His Spirit, the Spirit of perfect love. The world does not know this love and cannot promote it. This is the light of life.

When a person has been filled with His Spirit, then he has nothing to fear, nothing at all. Place your life fully and completely in His hands and all will be well.

Think on these things!
